10 days to go!

23 Nov

I am super excited. My rock and saviour, my sister Alex, is having the opening of her art exhibition on December 4. Needless to say I am super proud of her! Well now that I think about it, proud is an understatement.

She is MY all time favourite painter in the whole wide world. Cheesy but very true. I have always admired her amazing ability to express her feelings through her paintings and draw you magically into her world. The first memories I have from her is her dedication to draw, in unbelievable detail, beautiful scenes from her favourite children’s books.

Now, some 30 years later, she exhibits a series of paintings dedicated to her favourite fairy tales.  What I absolutely LOVE about them is that they are not obvious illustrations of the fairy tales.  There are no real characters. Most of them are scenes where nature and its animals play the leading role.

Some are more emotional, others are a bit darker, all share one common characteristic: They depict her soul.

I love her unconditionally and wish her the best of luck.

Best of luck to your sister – think her exhibition will be a huge success, the trees and details in this painting are incredible.

Thank you Camilla, that is very nice of you. I am afraid the times here in Greece are very difficult and critical and the timing of her exhibition is a bit off, I still hope she will manage to do well!!

That is a truly gorgeous painting. One very talented lady. I LOVE that you are so proud of her. I wish my girls felt like that…
I wish her every success in her exhibition.
Talent runs in the family it seems… an artist and a writer 🙂

I don’t know where to begin in replying to your comment! First things first: Yes, we are very close with my sister. Having her by my side made me have another child (at the time we decided to try for no2 I was still exhausted with Yianni). I don’t know what I would do without her.
How about your daughters? I sense that they are not that close? or did I misunderstood you?
Thank you for your kind wishes about my sisters exhibition and thank you so much for calling me a writer!! I am in my cloud no 9 right now (thanks to you)!
