but the ones I do have, I hold very close to my heart.
I was bullied in primary school (due to my German origin) and I was bullied in high school. I am not sure which one was the worst. At both times I felt pretty awful.
Throughout the years I have gained some friends and lost a few others. Partly because I moved away from the city, partly because I left my previous life and devoted myself on raising my kids in the suburbs. I probably made some mistakes myself which caused some friendships to shatter, but in all true honesty, who hasn’t?
What I have realized (now in my mid 30s) is that I don’t really need A LOT of friends. What I do know is that my few TRUE friends are here and there (Spain, Switzerland & Germany) and even if we don’t see each other that often I most definitely would go out of my way to help them and so would they. These are my friends for life.
At 08:35 yesterday morning my phone rang. It was the postman to let me know that I have a package from Spain. I don’t know what was more surreal; that the actual postman called (in Greece where public services REALLY suck) or that the package from my friend Maria had already arrived!!
This is the first post from my new netbook that my dear friend M. was either a) too kind, b) way too generous or c)enjoys my blog that much to send me as a gift via old fashioned, proper mail. I ll take all of the above!
Until next time
