I apologize to you, my non parent friend

13 Feb

if you ever happened to be at my place at around 7pm. I am well aware of the fact that I have either

  • a) caused permanent damage in the ‘I wish I had kids’ department
  • b) worked as the most efficient contraceptive
  • c) shown you my Cruella side or
  • d) all of the above

There are no beautiful and calm bedtime rituals in this household. I have been told they exist. I have tried everything to make that happen but have miraculously failed at it. Big time!

If you are the peaceful and precious bedtime magician please make sure to have left our premises by 7pm. If you feel like you need a reminder of why you are still not ready for a kid (or ever will be after witnessing that) feel free to come by anytime between 7 & 8 pm. I can guarantee you the ‘drama’ of a lifetime.

Until next time

love,

tatu

This is hilarious!!! I can totally relate. Since I homeschool my kids, I spend every minute of every day with them. By the time their bedtime rolls around, I am desperate for a little time to myself. I know there are nights when I speed through their bedtime routine, but I can’t help it! 🙂

You are one brave woman my friend!! How old are your kids?

      • littlemisswordy February 13, 2013 at 4:37 pm #

They are 10 and 7. I wasn’t a teacher, and there was a reason for that. lol It’s been okay though…an adjustment for all of us. The kids love it so much I may never get them back in a school! 😉

I can’t honestly begin to understand where you find the courage and knowledge to home-school. I think it is truly wonderful, I admire that you have the strength to do it and even more I admire the fact that both kids love it (HOW DO YOU DO IT???)

I did a lot of research before deciding on where to order the materials from then I just ordered the whole set for 5th and the whole set for 1st. I scheduled what they do on which days and follow it. They’re actually ahead on some subjects because I’ve learned to be more flexible and let them do more. It’s not as hard as I thought it would be, if I’m being honest. Still, I don’t see me doing it forever. 😉

LOL!!! You have just described my home between those exact hours.
Apparently I turn into a cross between a sport coach and a game show host because I tell my son to “hustle up” so many times that he now uses that phase along with the classic “here’s the deal….” I definately feel your pain.

yeap, I would consider myself more a cross between Cruella & Glenn Close in Fatal Attraction (the hair thing) 😉 thanks for understanding!!

We had kids almost a decade before any of our university friends started to reproduce, and when we’d get together in those early years, we used to call our visits to them “The J&S why you use birth control show.” 😛
